Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - At first I thought this was a flawed bottle. Initial impression was an old oxidized chardonnay with not much going on. Palate still had nice acidity but nothing but a strong nutty maybe almond flavor. After about an hour in the glass the nose and flavor really blossomed. Nose became citrusy with a nice nutty and woody note. Mouth feel was still zippy and mouth watering and flavors morphed to lemon cookies and spice. I found myself really enjoying the wine by the 3rd glass. For under $40 a bottle this was a nice experience. I would recommend drinking this ASAP. My last 4 bottles will not make it to Halloween.
Color: pale gold like a middling d'Yquem. Nose: Citrus and nuts. Mouthfeel: zippy. Flavor: lemon cookies
