Tuesday, April 16, 2024 - Wonderful powerful but not overpowering. Big nose and palate of dark fruits and tobacco and an intriguing herbal perfume (lavender?). Long finish. For me, everything that’s great about good rhone and syrahs — big flavor punch that still is able to meld with food (was great with a cheese / white asparagus / cream pasta and another dish with a vin jaune sauce). Tannins are definitely present — lots of time left on this one but for me the perfect drinking window.
