Sunday, June 24, 2018 - (Decanted and drank almost immediately.) This has come a long way in the last three years. While still fresh, its early reticence has given way to a more generous and pleasurable wine. The nose is compelling with black fruits, Asian spices, sweat, espresso and smoked meat. Nearly full bodied in the mouth, rich black plum, licorice, coffee, tar and pepper flavors persist all the way through the long finish. The underlying acidity is fantastic and the sweet tannins possess enough firmness to guarantee a long life. Beautiful and nearly hedonistic. 96+ points.
