95 Points

Thursday, March 2, 2006 - Beautiful youthful color, dense purple with a bright magenta rim. Upon opening the bottle, it was all charcuterie and smoke, and a curtain of oak and tannin covering faint black cherry and hints of currant. The fruits took two hours to make a showing, but after 5 hours of decanting, the fruit really started shining: ripe black fruits and currant. The smoky, meaty complexity remained. Wonderful now, but I'm going to try to save this one until 2010; its potential is enormous.
