The nose is not off-putting, like I would expect at this age. A very good wine from a solid producer in the 1980's. This bottle was stored at the winery 15 years before its release to the Tasting Room in Chicago, where I acquired it. The 1987 and 1990 Reserves remain in the cellar, and will soon be drunk (within the next 6 months), lest anyone think me a necrophiliac with wines, but I am not dreading the opening of those bottles given the strong showing of the 1984.
