Sunday, August 12, 2012 - This features gobs of blue/black fruit, but also with plenty of green pepper and menthol impressions. Has good acidity and a nice closing kick on the finish as well, with active but civilized tannins at this stage. Overall it has good balance and power...I'd be surprised if this wasn't mountain fruit. This was clearly superior to the 2009 Caymus Special Selection and 2009 Larkmead Cabernet Sauvignon tasted blind alongside. Refreshing to see some Bordeaux qualities from a Napa wine.
