88 Points

Friday, April 3, 2009 - color: eggplant purple; nose: ripe oak and cherry; taste: medium and jammy mouthfeel, fruity plum on mid-palate, lingering chocolate finish. Overall: I guess this one is a "fruit bomb", as Gary Vaynerchuk calls them, but I like it. Nice nose, tasty, and finishes long. Stands on its own without food, but also would be tasty with grilled fare. Good value for money ($13.50 at Costo) and worth buying again.

another bottle - 10/31/09: as above, but noting a toasted cocoa finish; not velvety smooth like other Barossa shirazes, but still an 88 and on my buy-again list esp. when I can find it sale-priced as now at $12 (Calvert Woodley in DC)
