Friday, February 13, 2009 - Decanted for about an hour before being served with grilled prime ribeye steaks. Showed a fair amount of sediment. Deep, bright violet in color. Reticent nose offering hints of blackberry and cassis. Initially, still a little tight with dominant cassis flavors. Blossomed over the next hour or so, adding great black fruit to the palate. Medium-full bodied with evident tannins still to be resolved. Great structure, and lengthy finish. This should continue drinking well for a number of years, or currently with at least a few hours in the decanter.
