Friday, March 19, 2010 - Pop and pour. Color: Medium ruby. Clear. Nose: Initially, this nose has a minty/eucalyptus thing happening over the top of red fruit-cherry, blackberry. Underneath that, some sweaty sock and scorched earth. On the palate: Initial attack: Nice sour cherry meets vegetal notes on this medium bodied effort. Midpalate: Nice fresh acidity augments the bright fruit with over and under tones of black and white pepper, and late stage leather. Finish: The transition into the finish is very smooth with mild, fine tannins. Grippy on the palate, leaves it try with latent plums. Ready for more. This is a fairly simple wine but lovely nonetheless. Certainly a good value and would buy again.
