Sunday, September 11, 2011 - Decanted about 3 hours. Deep maroon color. Amazing nose with blackberry, fresh ground white pepper, black cherries, smoke, licorice, stony minerality, wet slate, fresh flowers, vanilla, and charcoal embers. Fairly full bodied with solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Explosive on the palate with the fruit, spices, minerality mixing with the smoky embers into a very harmonious and tasty blend. Long, delicious finish. I'm sure this will age and improve, but it is awesome right now. This was pre price increase so it was a steal at $45.
