Wednesday, December 5, 2012 - Got this as part of a special on a mixed case. Unfortunately, there was significant seepage around the cork and the capsule was sticky. Fearing the worst, still opened it. Color is cloudy muddy brown. Aromas have a mild oxidative maderia like nose with tart apples, honey, and minerals. On palate, almost madeira-like (in a good way) - nutty with good acids, gala apples, honey, medium dark caramel, and meyer lemon. Nice long finish caramel-tart apple-citrus with some nuts thrown in. Definitely sweet buttressed by racy acidity. I like it a lot despite the oxidation. Really surprised that it held up so well given all the seepage. 89 due to the oxidation. Have another bottle that didn't seem to be seeping. Really interested to see how that is.
