Sunday, February 21, 2016 - Stumbled across this 750 under a bunch of 375s and glad that I did. Haven't given our port stems a workout in years! Coravin'd a few glasses and am VERY IMPRESSED. Still has deep violet coloring, sawdust, violets, dried thyme on the nose. Candied plum, blackberry and hint of fig. Extracted dark fruit shows its age, flavored with vanilla and heavily toasted - but old - barrel. As Bambam notes, no heat at all. This is in a wonderful place at present and doesn't appear to be in any rush. Clearly a new-world twist on the varietal but impressive and enjoyable.
