It's huge and rich with lot's of structure but the tannins never get in the way. Very dark black fruit with bitter chocolate, cedar and spice. Waves of power roll through the mid palate and finish. The extended air tamed the mouthfeel and some of the complexity so I would give this a little air or short decant and follow it in the glass. I've normally found the HSS to need 2-3 hrs to show it's best but this was not the case for the 06. Outstanding. Drink now or hold for years.
