Tuesday, August 16, 2016 - Final bottle and it feels a bit tired. Like the previous bottles it is light for Les Clos, but with the requisite crisp acidity, a cool mineral core, lemon zest and a hint of salted butter. However, the fruit has developed soft notes of spiced yellow apple and spiced ripe pear that take away the precision and length and seem to indicate a lack of energy and loss of grip. Jancis Robinson already noted in April 2015 that this was on its way down, and she was right, but in Les Clos I am really looking for more longevity. Drink up.
