Monday, March 2, 2009 - This is a lot of wine for $10. Carignano is not a often sought after varietal. Yet, this has the typical full-body, rustic, animalism and density of this varietal. It offers a nice blend of blue and black fruits with all encompassing herbal landscape. The concentration suggests old vines, which is usually the case with Carignano. I suggest decanting or opening for 60-90 minutes. It's a wine for meat and very strong cheese. It's worth owning.
