Monday, December 14, 2020 - From a pristinely cellared bottle, this opaque ruby wine (100% Syrah) was decanted off of its sediment and serially sampled over a four-hour period. The wine's fruit remains every bit as prominent as it was when last tasted nearly five years ago, but the tannins and oak have further integrated, conferring a degree of elegance that was previously lacking. Black cherries, dark bramble fruits, smoky bacon and bittersweet chocolate continue to reside in a full-bodied frame that now has no rough edges. Solid on the mid-palate and long on the back end, this will last longer than previously projected. Comparably cellared bottles should reach their twentieth birthday with grace. Drink now-2026.
