Friday, May 17, 2019 - An accomplished wine that, while distinctly non-Burgundian in character, easily sets the standard for Australian chardonnay. In comparison to the 2009 and 2011, this had lots more oak and butter showing and some citrus/grapefruit peel coming through on the nose.

Paired with Hainanese chicken rice which worked a treat and brought some highly perfumed notes to the fore. The palate was rounded and well resolved, albeit not as chirpy as younger vintages which usually give out sweeter citrus and stonefruit.
