The fruit for this wine comes from blocks at an elevation of 3200' in the Alta Mesa Vineyard in the Santa Barbara Mountains. Although this wine’s base is Grenache, it’s Mourvedre that really stood-out to me in this wine. The nose has a nice rusticity to it, with pronounced notes of cedar. The palate features dark raspberry, as well as a healthy dose of oak. This needs some time to settle.
