Thursday, January 28, 2010 - This wine was decanted and poured. This was good but there is not enough going on with this wine to merit much enthusiasm. The aromatics show a pleasant combination of black fruits, leather, spice and pencil lead. The aromatics unfortunately come across as monolithic and the individual notes lack definition and nuance. They tend toward the mature spectrum with much of the youthfulness resolved. The color is a medium to dark ruby that again represents a color spectrum in the mature range. The medium bodied palate shows pleasantly on the forward palate but finishes short and disjointed. This will most likely not improve with additional bottle age. It is at or around maturity.
