Monday, December 12, 2011 - Lesser 2000 Bordeaux Tasting (Chateau VinoMe): 2nd time I have had this wine. The first time was in 2003 when this was just released. I bought 4 of these 5th growth wines on futures. The best vintage of Cantemerle that I've had (1996, 2000, 2003 and 2005). Drinking very well right now but there is no rush to open them. Double decanted 3 hours before drinking. Moderate sediment. Crimson color. The roundest texture and most opulent of the middle of the road 2000 bordeaux that we opened. Notes of black pepper/spice, black cherry and cola. Firm but silky tannins. Moderate to long finish. Probably just reaching it's peak. Try on if you have any. 92 points.
