Monday, October 26, 2020 - This is a disappointment. A touch of brett is not unusual in Chinon from, say, Alliet or Joguet from around the turn of century but here it dominated. Wet horsey leather with a sharp edge spoiled the nose and, though less marked on the palate, the fruit and other desirable elements were insufficient to balance it and led to a bitter finish. There was no temptation to finish the bottle. I have two bottles left and hope, without confidence, that they will be better.
