Sunday, February 5, 2012 - This wine is ready, now. Popped, poured through double aerators into a decanter and consumed during today's Super Bowl game. Very deep dark, dense, eggplant purple with mutted nose surrounded by heat; the nose is uncharacteristic of the taste to come. Elegantly styled with gentle dark fruit and spice supported by silky tannins and deeply integrated acidity. A tinge of heat at the beginning of the very long finish. Better than the 07 Darioush Cab Franc that I enjoyed late last year.
