Monday, February 23, 2015 - Decanted for five hours, re-bottled and consumed over next five hours. Surprised over the lack of sediment. Not as primary and hedonistic on the nose as other Cayuse I've had. Softer red and lots of blue fruit above the glass. animal hide, iodine. Palate is lacking any attractive characteristics, forest floor, gamey; but with no fruit left to support those notes. Finish is long, though not particularly interesting. A disappointment for a Birthday wine.
