92 Points

Saturday, July 7, 2007 - Extended family dinner of planked salmon. Popped and poured. Complex, fantastic, dynamic nose -- earth, spice, peat, forest floor -- that is very Burgundian in style. On the palate, this shows slightly restrained, high-toned dark fruit, earth, minerals, black tea, and light spice. While this put on a bit of weight with air, it didn't develop enough mid-palate density or length to be truly extraordinary. Delicious nonetheless. A dead ringer for a Burgundy (and I mean that as a compliment!)
