Saturday, December 10, 2011 - 8.5/10 - What a complete turnaround from my last tasting of this wine, very surprised at the difference a year (and a few months) make. Gone is the overly tannic and alcoholic wine, which has matured into a beautifully crafted wine. Still powerful and packed with blackberries and dark cherries with just some subtle hints of oak, spices and white pepper. The tannins, while still relatively heavy, are now sweet and smooth and no longer grainy, and the alcohol was not obtrusive at all. A big hit with the crowd, much to my surprise. Very pleased with how this turned out. Will keep the rest of my bottles still for a while more but am now confident that this is already a good drinker which will further improve with time.
