Community Tasting Note

I can't find that laughing magpie's creaminess anywhere.
I think it needs time plus taking some air in order to show how it really is.
Same story on the palate, astringent and drier.
When finishing disgusting plastic smells...

Cerrado. Aromas a asfalto, a olivas negras. No encuentro la cremosidad de aquellas laughing magpie.
Creo que necesita mucho tiempo aireándose para mostrarse, también en boca: astringente y secante.
Al final desagradables olores a plástico.

9/29/2014 1:15:00 PM - Dead Arm has become one of my personal favourites from Oz. Had 4 btls of this vintage already, when actually trying to keep them...
The disgusting plastic smells sounds like an off btl. I've been fortunate to not have to deal with such aromas here.
Better luck with your next one :-)

    9/29/2014 3:25:00 PM - Dear Stefan,
Probably you're right again. You know I am referring to that bottle. I don't go beyond that point.
Anyway in my memories (haven't formal notes) The Laughing Magpie always was more wasn't, elegant, creamier even.
Comparing? Well, wacky labels I think :-)
    Cheers!

I can fully appreciate that you judge any wine from what you have in the glass. Some times you paid for the label, but most often (isn't it so?) we do get to enjoy and learn. Sometimes the company is more enjoyable than the wine. But that's Life :-)

Looking forward to be Sharing and enjoying with you!

At Garcia de la Navarra a lovely tutti frutti of 08 Schiopetto, 70 Lanciano, VZ tawny 10 yo and 08 Gatinois plus 81 Tondonia, an excellent one.
Outstanding local food, friends and sharing good time.
    Cheers!

Let's hope that the next time, we're both able to be at the same place at the same time, without problems.
I will bring you gifts of some of the best liquids that you can find in Japan. Or, most ppl can't even get to them. For instance the Imperial Palace production of saké and shouchu.
Let's enjoy like kings and happy fools in the same evening :-)
