Tuesday, November 15, 2011 - This is a difficult wine to rate on a scale. It is rich, dark, heady, some exotic aromas of clove and black cherry. Yet it is maybe a little overdone with the toasted oak. Dave was experimenting about this time with his oak treatment, as I remember. Overall, though, this wine is a knockout, intense, savory and complex. I hope the fruit and complexity doesn't get completely overpowered by the oak and tobacco as it continues to evolve.
