Monday, January 28, 2013 - Decanted 2 hours (tons of thick sediment and was a bit closed on opening). Reddish violet. Dark fruits on nose with tobacco, earth, spice. Silky palate with soft tannins, good acidity and a touch of heat. Not heavy or cloying in the least. Good persistence. Complex flavors and a little exciting texturally. Terrific with rib eyes. Must be near peak (probably past), but will hold just fine.
