Sunday, November 14, 2010 - Decanted through an aeration device. Initial taste showed intense red fruits but some slight sulphuric flavors similar to an '07 Walker Vine Hill tasted earlier this year. Returned to the cellar to breathe for a couple hours. Color is inky purple fading to dark translucent ruby near the edges. Nose of red fruits and spicecake. Palate is sour cherries, red raspberry, menthol, blood, iron and pepper. Still very tannic - will give my remaining bottles a year more at least. Paired nicely with a homemade pizza of butternut squash sauce, walnuts, and blue cheese.
