Sunday, December 19, 2010 - This was "audouzed" for over six hours in the cellar with a glass pulled off. The wine sat poured in my wine glass for over an hour before having my first sip. The nose smells of dark berries and fruits. This is followed by scents of anise and other similar spices. The palate reveals pure currant and a blueberry / blackberry combo. I mean just delicious fruit! There are indefinable layers of complexity to my palate. Spice, fruit, garrigue, and everything delicious. The wine transitions seamlessly from start to finish. There is some minimal round tannin on the mouth-watering 12 + second finish. If you have more than 3 bottles you will not waste a bottle trying it now. This will only improve and will most likely warrant a classic score with time. Make no mistake this is delicious wine; and for my palate is not anywhere near being over the top. Just pure, perfectly ripe Châteauneuf. 93+ pts

1/24/2011 6:35:00 PM - Did you find already quite approachable? And also, how does it compare to the 05 vintage, if you had tried that one as well... Nice tasting notes, and would love to hear back on your thoughts. Drop me a note on the message board. Thanks, David
