Thursday, March 6, 2014 - Double decanted/sieved to remove disintegrated cork fragments, and then left with stopper in for an hour before serving.
Second bottle tasted; different but as fine for its age as the first.
Vegetal charred aroma with cooked hedge fruit elements. Colour an even dark burnt red. Flavour concentrated black fruit, tar and dusty integrated tannins but with with considerable finesse - medium bodied with good length. Complex and very fine.
Look forward to serving this at my 60th birthday in April. A great survivor! No rush to drink even at this age.
