Sunday, December 25, 2022 - Opened with an unexpected pop, though the cork was appropriately shrunken and there's no effervescence in the glass. Antique gold colour. Mild, sweetish, nutty aroma. Still adequately sparkling on the tongue, lots more coffee-nuttiness, good bright acidity and a nice integration. With a little air, pear and caramel. Very nice, and just as I hoped - not from a top year, but well preserved and showing what vintage champagne from a good producer can offer at around thirty. The next day, drinking very well, quite a strong grapefruit character. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Wineauctioneer, £70 plus fees].
