Thursday, June 24, 2010 - Nose: Cedar, some sappiness, cherries, lavender, a bit of heat, strawberries, hint of sarsaparilla. Palate: Sweet and tart cherries and raspberries, sarsaparilla, and a hint of tar on the attack. Drying tannins on the mid-palate along with excellent acidity. Tart cherries, strawberries, lavender, crushed gravel linger on the finish. This is a very, very nice pinot that I feel needs a couple more years of bottle age. At this time, the balance is what stands out the most but I see the other elements taking this pinot up another notch with some cellar time.
