Sunday, December 24, 2017 - On Christmas Eve I wanted a bottle with an emotional connection so picked this one, bought from the wine on a quick tasting trip after completing my last round of chemo over 8 years ago. Objectively speaking, the wine was very good but not great. Definitely not a sappy-sweet style of Cali pinot; rather Burgundian in styling (NSG perhaps). Tart red fruits and acid on the attack and mid-palate with some fresh herbal notes chiming in on the finish. Absolutely none of the cherry cola sweetness emblematic of too many Cali pinots. Needs food; but even with food this seemed a little less complex than I had hoped for at 10 years of age. A glass saved til day 2 showed some noticeable VA but was still enjoyable.
