The tannins were sweet and well integrated; acidity present but subdued. It carried through the meal effortlessly. Notes of black fruits including plums, currants were experienced with a hint of leather and spiciness. There was something else present that I am at a loss to describe just now. Well, I guess that I will have to drink another bottle.
I have had the '98 Maya on a couple of occasions in the past but this proved more accessible and much more satisfying.
