93 Points

Saturday, September 1, 2012 - Popped and poured. Virtually opaque garnet-red color with hints of brown at the edges. Powerful, dense nose of underbrush, plums, clay, tobacco, baking spices, tar, and smoke. Richly fruited and balanced on the palate, with great savoriness. It just fills the mouth in a lovely, silky way. There are no hard edges here, the tannins have moved to the background, and what's left is opulent cabernet. Very nice in an overt, opulent, in-your-face way.
