Wednesday, December 26, 2012 - Excellent but not outstanding or memorable. Christmas wine served after 4 hour decant. Out of the bottle, it was moderate red color with lots of fine, black sediment. Deepened in color with decanting and the acidity started to mesh with the red raspberry dominated fruit. Nose wasOK but not really expressive. Finish was shorter than hoped. Some tobacco and leather notes are in the background. Went well with filet.
