Tuesday, April 14, 2009 - Greatly enjoyed this wine last night at the monthly meeting of the Hickory Wine Club at Lake Hickory CC as part of a '92 - '97 vertical tasting, what a flight. Big nose of oak, dark fruit and underlying molasses. Inky black, very well balanced, very full bodied, muscular and complex with enough structural tannins remaining for many years of cellaring. Very multi-dimensional. Primary flavors included cassis, strong dark fruit, well balanced oak with development of smoke, black pepper and terroir on a long aftertaste. Very very good, highly recommend this wine.
