Friday, December 9, 2005 - This wine is dark purple in color and so dense, when you tilt the wine in the glass to get a sense of color variation, you can barely see your fingers under the dark hue. On the nose, rasberry, plum and sweet, blackfruit. This baby explodes in your mouth with massive tannins and copious gobs of dark fruit, espresso, leather and roast that get overshadowed by a palate full of pucker that hangs and hangs for well over 40 seconds. In its first hour of life it is a wine that would dominate virtually any food pairing that I can think of... I will play with this bottle for the next few days, but on first glance, I won't be touching another one of my bottles for at least 24 months.
