Friday, July 15, 2011 - Popped and poured at a restaurant without detailed notes. Classic Pegau style, with some character of the '07 vintage. Luckily, not overdone. Expressive nose from the start with black cherry, garrigue and spices with anise and thyme. Palate showed the concentrated dark fruit of the '07 vintage, but retained a lovely acidic spine with fine tannins. Lengthy spicy finish with a touch of mineral coming through. Surprisingly open, but this is built for the long haul. Impressive, and maybe may favorite '07 so far as I have not been impressed the RP 100's.
