Saturday, May 23, 2009 - Pleasant ripe, sweet cherry and strawberry, almost tutti-frutti sort of nose. Also a bit rustic, brambly, hot. More sweet red fruit on the palate. Dusty earthiness underlying. Not too heavy on the tannins. Medium body. Alcohol is present but not overwhelming, and finish is fine but unremarkable. Overall, a mellow, soft, fruity red. Very enjoyable. Doesn't rock my socks off, but perfectly food-friendly, hearty, and enjoyable.
