90 Points

Friday, January 22, 2016 - Drunk from a 375ml bottle at Vue de Monde. Interestingly the somm said they've had this wine for 3 months now in a few different formats and their spoilage rate has been about 50%!! What better place to take a punt on a bottle then?! Luckily the wine gods were smiling on us as this was fresh and vibrant. Lemon yellow in the glass. Quite austere and a little serious at the moment. Still really enjoyable though. Citrus dominates, but there are some floral notes of honeysuckle that develop over the first 20 minutes. Lots of stoney, chalky minerals. There is really good precision and drive on the palate, as well as the faintest hint of sweetness that comes through (residual sugar?). Good intensity and length. A full bodied white. Clearly a young wine that could do with a long sleep in a cold cellar... Assuming it manages to avoid tca and/or oxidisation.
