Friday, April 27, 2012 - Opened at cellar temp, observed, re-corked and will serve 7 hour hence. Medium-dark ruby core, transitions suggest short term cellaring - I will move my drink thru date to 2015. The nose is not explosive, but it does show above-average complexity, with asphalt, grilled herbs, garrigue, red meat, cedar, gravel dust. Some heat, but this should blow off by dinner time. Medium+ bodied, with ample acids and modest tannins. Nothing earth shattering here, but no doubt it will prove a solid partner to the leg of lamb this evening. 14,5% abv
