Thursday, December 27, 2012 - A sympathetic amarone made in a classic botti-italian, almost dry and food-friendly style. The finely tuned nose conveys aromas of dried sour cherries, dried roses, bouquet of herbs, salty liquorice, sweet pipe tobacco and dried fig. Palatewise it shows extremely well-balanced proportions without any residual sweetness. High and piercing acidity, smooth tannins, persistent sweet-sour cherry flavours and a really long warm finish that does'nt burn too much at 15,5%. Nice pairing with swedish elk meatballs, potato stomp, sauce and jelly. And of course - with a slice of parmigiano after the meal.
