Wednesday, July 27, 2011 - Medium to dark maroon color. Blackberries, cherries, baking spice, dried herbs, raspberry, plum, licorice, vanilla, dark chocolate, and a bit of black pepper on the very open and inviting nose. Medium body with soft, ripe, tannins and decent acidity. Ripe and flavorful on the palate where the fruit shines. A bit soft but very tasty. The finish is a touch short and lacks a bit of zip, probably because of the low acidity. Very tasty, but not one to keep in the cellar, drink over the next year or two.
