Wednesday, March 5, 2008 - Wow, this wine really won me over. At first I didn't know what to think, right away I smelled eucalyptus and tasted absolute darkest fruit i've ever found in a shiraz. Usually they're vibrant and explosive but this was brooding but pure, and i've never been to Australia but I actually felt I was really getting a taste of it's true terroir. I've heard Clare shiraz was the answer for those looking for balance instead of the over-oaked fruit bomb wines pouring out of Barossa and this wine is just that.
