Sunday, July 26, 2015 - Medium to pale colour. On the nose there's a complex mixture of red cherry, wild strawberry and some dusty spices. The palate was a tiny bit tannic at first but opened up with time, displaying the same red fruits and spice as the nose, with a mouthfeel that is both subtly crystalline and silky. This is a pretty decent effort, with some of the Grand Cru gravitas you expect, but it lacks the enigmatic attraction or the depth of the best cote de nuits. Ready to drink, but may improve slightly. I paid 80 euros for this, which is a bit steep. I'd say it's worth 60 or so. Looking forward to my 2010s.
