Tuesday, September 17, 2019 - The 2001 La Mission Haut Brion is stepping into its drinking window and offers a great amount of charm, almost as good as the blockbuster 2000. Rich and intense with densely packed array of primary dark fruits, blackberries, fresh wood spices and high toast new oak. Energetic with good ripeness, reminds me of 2006 Bordeaux, which are fresh and charming with soft tannins (relatively speaking). Drink now to 2050. (92-93/100)
