Wednesday, January 1, 2020 - On the open, plenty of funk and bricking in the decant. Smells seems off a quite bit, hints of cedar and tobacco appear, plus a rustic taste that makes one wonder if this is quite beyond it's years! Trust me- it's not! It takes about 1,5-2 hours of aeration but then she awakens with a dense, dark and very charming mouthful! Color improves too as the browning turn to a nice deep crimson, and the wonderful dark fruits emerge along side the cedar. The wine is powerful and muscular, full body for sure, again dense but charming showing the wonders of aging in a classic style. The only thing missing here was a spectacular finish. That came a bit short and slightly tart. Other than that, it's a wonderful classic "big" bordeaux.
