90 Points

Friday, February 8, 2013 - This has really decided to open it's doors for business and it's amazing the transformation that these lower classe and village producer wines will go through in a short few years. Three years ago I found this thin, unbalanced, and bitter. Now 8 years in, this bottle is very luscious and enjoyable. Popped and poured, followed for a couple hours. Still a nice dark violet color, lightly tinted legs. Spicy accents over dark berry, licorice, and hobby paint aroma. Palate has lengthened out and is now smooth and harmonious. Integrated tannins and generous acidity. Medium finish with a floral tail. 5+11+16+8 = 90
